Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Employment Solicitor to join their Employment team at either Senior Associate or Partner level, primarily based in their Chester office. This is a newly created role designed to establish and strengthen our Employment Law presence in Chester and North Wales, supporting the continued growth of the department.
You’ll handle high-value matters with a strong degree of autonomy in a growing close-knit department of five, spanning Supervising Secretary through to Partner level.
Key responsibilities:
- Create and develop a dedicated Employment Law presence within the Chester office.
- Undertake networking and business development activities to raise the profile of the Employment team and generate new work opportunities.
- Manage a varied caseload of employment matters, including Employment Tribunal claims and day-to-day HR and employment law advice.
- Undertake advocacy work and represent clients in Employment Tribunal proceedings where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Employment team and other departments.
- Contribute profitably to the firm through effective time recording, billing, and case management.
About you:
- Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' PQE.
- Strong technical knowledge of employment law with experience of managing your own caseload independently.
- Employment Tribunal and advocacy experience is essential.
- Client-focused with a genuine appetite to build and grow the Employment Law presence in Chester.
- Able to work independently while also being an engaged and supportive team player.
- Positive, approachable, collaborative, and motivated to contribute to the continued growth of the department and wider firm.
