Our client is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Litigation Paralegal to join their growing Litigation team in Nelson, Lancashire and support their fee-earning Solicitors.
In your position as Paralegal, you will:
- Assist on a variety of high-value cases related to debt recovery, contractual disputes, property litigation, landlord disputes, care claims and commercial disputes.
- Support Case Management with a range of responsibilities that mean you:
- Draft routine correspondence, witness statements, instructions to counsel, and court documents.
- Prepare and file documents at court (including via CE-File where applicable).
- Assist in preparing trial bundles and hearing bundles.
- Conduct legal research and summarise findings.
- Manage diaries, limitation dates, and key procedural deadlines.
- Assist with Procedural and Court Work including:
- Assist with claims issued in the County Court and High Court.
- Draft Claims, Particulars of Claim, Defences, and Applications under supervision.
- Support compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
- Liaise with barristers, courts, experts, and third parties.
- Provide direct, confidential support to your clients as you:
- Act as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and taking instructions (under supervision).
- Ensure files are maintained in accordance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Record time accurately and assist with billing preparation.
- Monitor WIP limits and adhere to interim billing procedures with assistance from the Case Management System.
About You
You’re a motivated and experienced Paralegal (law degree is preferred but not essential) with a strong understanding of Litigation legal principles. You have a high-capacity for new technologies and can work smoothly with Case Management Software and AI-powered legal-sector research tools – whilst maintaining integrity and critical judgement at all times. You should be ready to invest in yourself with support from the business and complete continuous professional development. You must have a desire to communicate with clients and build strong relationships.
