We are looking for a driven, self-motivated Business Development Manager to work in the field, engaging directly with business owners who may be experiencing financial distress. This is a front-end, relationship-led role. You will be responsible for generating your own leads, setting and attending appointments, and conducting initial fact-finding meetings with directors to understand their business position. Once the initial meeting is completed, you will pass qualified leads to a JIEB-qualified Insolvency Practitioner for formal advice and case progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively generate your own leads and appointments, primarily through accountants and professional introducers
  • Attend face-to-face meetings with company directors to gather business and financial information
  • Build and maintain strong referral relationships with accountants and other intermediaries
  • Accurately capture and relay case details to the Insolvency Practitioner
  • Manage your own diary, pipeline, and territory
  • Represent the business professionally and compliantly at all times

About You

  • Proven background in BDM, sales, or field-based business development (professional services or financial services experience preferred)
  • Confident meeting business owners face-to-face and discussing sensitive financial matters
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to generate your own leads
  • Comfortable working autonomously and managing your own workload
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Full UK driving licence and own car essential
  • Previous experience in insolvency is not essential, but an understanding of the SME or professional services landscape would be highly beneficial.

What We Offer

  • Uncapped commission with realistic OTE of £80,000+
  • Full training and ongoing support from experienced Insolvency Practitioners
  • Autonomy and flexibility in a field-based role
  • Clear opportunity to grow earnings based on performance
