Are you an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor looking for the next step in your career? My client, a friendly and well established High Street firm based in Tamworth, is looking for a dedicated individual to head up their Commercial Property department and join them in their continued success and expansion.

The role

  • Management of firm’s Commercial Property team, keeping the team updated as to firmwide developments on a regular basis.
  • Working as part of the firm’s management team on wider issues affecting the practice and attending the monthly departmental meeting.
  • To manage work allocation, supervision, and quality control in accordance with centrally agreed policies.
  • Carrying out regular monthly review of files for inactivity.
  • Leading by example - providing a positive role modelling for junior team members.
  • Promoting excellence in work standards, client care and integrity.
  • Inspiring others with energy and enthusiasm.
  • Strategic planning of marketing activity as part of management team.
  • Produce 1265 chargeable and fee earning hours per annum.
  • Achieve fee earning target set annually and support the team in achieving their target.
  • Manage the profitable execution of all aspects of the Firm's business within the Commercial Property team within the policy framework as set out in the business plan.
  • Contribute as required to the preparation of the Firm's plans and budgets in accordance with the policies and targets set.
  • Management of credit control and debt recovery within the department.
  • Cross sell services across the Firm and act as appropriate.
  • Enhance and improve the firm's client base by way of effective liaison with clients, both existing and future, and introducers of work.
  • Produce a 12-month, 3 year and 5 year business plan for the team identifying the potential for growth and development.
  • Maintain professional standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • You must be a qualified Lawyer (either Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer).
  • You should have 8 years’ PQE Commercial Property experience.
  • Up to date knowledge of Commercial Property Law.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain good client relationships.
  • Confidence in marketing.
  • Prepare content and present at the firm’s commercial property seminars.
  • You will have broad Commercial Property experience including, ideally, development, site set up, Landlord and Tenant and general commercial property transaction experience.
  • Experience with AML and onboarding compliance obligations for property matters.
