We're currently looking to recruit an experienced Freelance Site Manager to join a live school refurbishment project in Selston, Nottinghamshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering a programme of small civils and structural remediation works, with an initial contract of 10 weeks and the potential for further work.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and in line with programme.

You'll be overseeing a small team of subcontractors while maintaining high standards of health & safety, quality and client communication throughout the project.

This is a hands-on role, so we're looking for someone who is happy to lead from the front and isn't afraid to muck in with the trades when required to help keep the project moving.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day running of the site.
  • Overseeing a programme of small civils and structural remediation works.
  • Supervising minor brickwork, blockwork and formwork activities.
  • Managing exploratory/opening-up works to assess existing structural conditions prior to remediation.
  • Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are completed safely, on time and to a high standard.
  • Carrying out site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
  • Maintaining site documentation, RAMS, permits and daily site records.
  • Liaising with the client, subcontractors and project team to ensure the programme is delivered successfully.
  • Assisting the site team where required to maintain progress and programme.

Essential Requirements

  • SMSTS
  • First Aid at Work
  • CSCS Card
  • Enhanced DBS (Essential)
  • Previous experience managing civils, structural remediation or refurbishment projects.
  • Comfortable working within a live education environment.
  • A proactive approach with a willingness to support the trades when required.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
