We're currently looking to recruit an experienced Multi-Skilled Tradesperson with either SSSTS or SMSTS to join a live school refurbishment project in Selston, Nottinghamshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tradesperson looking to step into a supervisory role whilst remaining hands-on when required.

You'll be joining a well-established contractor delivering a programme of small civils and structural remediation works within a live education environment.

The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day running of the site, supervising a small team of subcontractors whilst supporting the Site Manager to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and in line with programme.

This is a hands-on position, so we're looking for someone who is happy to lead from the front and isn't afraid to get involved with the trades to help keep the project moving.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the day-to-day running of the site.
  • Supervising a small team of subcontractors.
  • Overseeing minor brickwork, blockwork, formwork and small civils activities.
  • Assisting with exploratory and opening-up works to assess existing structural conditions prior to remediation.
  • Carrying out general building and multi-skilled works where required to help maintain programme.
  • Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are completed safely, on time and to a high standard.
  • Carrying out site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
  • Maintaining RAMS, permits, site documentation and daily records.
  • Liaising with the Site Manager, Contracts Manager and subcontractors to ensure the programme is delivered successfully.
  • Supporting the site team where required to keep the project progressing.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Tradesperson, Builder, Bricklayer, Groundworker, Joiner or similar construction trade.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS.
  • CSCS Card.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • Previous experience working on refurbishment, structural remediation or small civils projects.
  • Comfortable working within a live school environment.
  • Confident supervising subcontractors whilst remaining hands-on when required.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
