Job Description: Quantity Surveyor / Project Quantity Surveyor North East | Up to £65,000 + 10% Bonus + £6000 Car Allowance or Company Car + Benefits We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor to join an established and highly regarded construction business, based from their North East office. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong QS to join a business with a long-standing reputation for delivering some of the region's most significant construction projects. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of commercially managing projects valued at £20m+, with the technical ability and confidence to take ownership of complex projects and work closely with the wider operational and commercial teams. The Role You'll be responsible for the commercial management of major construction projects, taking ownership of the financial performance from procurement through to final account. We're looking for someone who: * Has proven experience commercially managing projects in excess of £20m. * Knows their way around CVRs, forecasting and project financial reporting. * Has strong experience managing subcontracted works, including procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts. * Has a strong understanding of JCT contracts and associated commercial and contractual processes. * Can confidently manage commercial risk and identify opportunities throughout the project lifecycle. * Is comfortable working closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, clients, consultants and subcontractors. * Can take ownership of their projects while contributing effectively as part of a wider commercial team. The Projects You'll have the opportunity to work on major construction projects across the North East, with project values typically in the £20m+ range. The business operates across a diverse range of sectors, including: * Commercial * Education * Residential * Healthcare * Industrial * Leisure * Public sector * Mixed-use developments The scale and complexity of the projects means this is a role suited to a QS who is already comfortable operating at a senior level and has experience managing significant commercial packages. About You We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor who is commercially astute, confident and capable of operating on large-scale projects. You'll need to be comfortable getting into the detail of project costs, managing subcontractors, producing accurate CVRs, forecasting and dealing with contractual matters. A proven background working for a main contractor would be highly advantageous, alongside strong JCT experience and a track record of successfully managing projects above £20m.
