Job Description: Estimator North East | Tier 1 Contractor | Competitive Package + Car Allowance / Company Vehicle + Bonus We are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a leading Tier 1 construction contractor as part of their growing North East operation. The North East region is growing significantly faster than originally anticipated, with a strong and increasing pipeline of major projects. Its a particularly exciting time to join the business, with the regional operation entering an important stage of its growth. The business delivers large-scale commercial, industrial, residential and infrastructure projects, with schemes typically ranging from £10m to £50m+. The Opportunity This isn't an opportunity to join an established regional team where everything is already in place. The North East operation is still growing, meaning the successful Estimator will have the opportunity to get involved early, take on genuine responsibility and play an important role in developing the region's estimating function. You'll work closely with the wider pre-construction and commercial teams, supporting the business in securing and delivering a growing pipeline of major projects. We're looking for someone who: * Has strong experience working as an Estimator within a main contractor environment. * Has experience pricing and estimating large-scale construction projects. * Has a strong understanding of construction methodologies, subcontractor packages and supply chain procurement. * Can analyse tender information, drawings and specifications to develop accurate and competitive tenders. * Is confident working with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and negotiate competitive quotations. * Can identify commercial risks, opportunities and value-engineering solutions throughout the tender process. * Can work closely with Commercial, Pre-Construction, Design and Operations teams. * Is commercially aware and understands the importance of producing accurate, competitive and deliverable tenders. The Projects You'll be working across a diverse portfolio of major projects throughout the North East, including: * Commercial developments * Industrial projects * Residential schemes * Infrastructure * Major public and private sector developments Project values typically range from £10m to £50m+, providing excellent exposure to complex and high-value construction projects. With the regional pipeline continuing to build, there is significant scope for the successful Estimator to become involved in some of the North East's major upcoming developments. Why Join? The North East operation is growing significantly faster than originally anticipated, and the business is investing in building a much larger regional presence. For the right person, this represents a genuine opportunity to get in early, establish yourself within the regional business and grow alongside it. You'll have the opportunity to: * Take real ownership within the estimating function. * Help shape how the regional estimating operation develops. * Work on £10m–£50m+ projects. * Build strong relationships across the regional supply chain. * Progress alongside a rapidly growing North East business. * Establish yourself within a major Tier 1 contractor while the regional operation is still developing. This is particularly well suited to an Estimator who wants more than simply pricing the next tender and would relish the opportunity to have a genuine influence on the growth of a regional business. Package * Salary up to £70,000 (based on experience) * Car allowance or company vehicle up to £6,000 * Annual bonus (10%) * 28 days holidays + Bank Holidays * Pension match at 5% * Other perks If you're an experienced Estimator looking to join a Tier 1 contractor at a genuinely exciting point in its North East growth, we'd be keen to hear from you
