Mechanical Contracts Manager

Location: Manchester Salary: Up to £65K DOE Package: Company vehicle + fuel card Start: ASAP

Ignite Construction are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join an established M&E contractor.

The role will oversee multiple large projects within sectors including Commerical, Education, Health & Industrial sectors. from pre-construction through to completion.

Projects to be within the North west with nationwide travel when needed

The position is approximately 75/25 site based.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple mechanical projects from start to handover.
  • Support Project Managers and Site Managers.
  • Monitor programme, procurement, costs and resources.
  • Attend site, client and progress meetings.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers and specialist contractors.
  • Identify technical, commercial and programme risks.
  • Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Support labour and resource planning.
  • Technical & Design

Strong mechanical design and technical coordination experience is essential.

You will primarily review and coordinate designs produced by consultants and design teams, including:

  • Mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Design coordination and technical queries.
  • Clash and installation issue resolution.
  • Technical submissions and equipment selection.
  • Value engineering.
  • Testing, commissioning and handover support.

Essential Experience

  • Mechanical Contracts Manager,
  • Strong mechanical building services background.
  • Experience managing multiple projects.
  • Mechanical design and coordination experience.
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong client-facing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

HNC / HND / Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.

SMSTS / CSCS.

Auto CAD, Revit or BIM exposure.

Design & Build experience.
