Freelance Site Manager – CAT B Office Fit-Out

The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of a fast-paced CAT B office fit-out in Bishopsgate, Central London. The project involves the fit-out of an office floor within an existing occupied building, so the successful Site Manager will need to be confident working within a live environment, managing multiple trades and maintaining a high standard of site management throughout the project. With handover required before Christmas, this is an opportunity for a strong, hands-on Site Manager who can take ownership of the programme and drive the project through to successful completion.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of the fit-out, ensuring works are completed safely, to programme and to the required quality standards. Key responsibilities will include:
- Taking overall responsibility for day-to-day site operations
- Managing subcontractors and site labour
- Driving the programme and ensuring key milestones are achieved
- Coordinating multiple trades within a fast-paced fit-out environment
- Working closely with the Project Manager, design team and wider project team
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety across site
- Managing site logistics, deliveries and access within a live occupied building
- Monitoring workmanship and quality throughout the project
- Managing snagging and ensuring works are completed to a high standard
- Maintaining site records, progress reports and relevant documentation
- Driving the project towards a successful handover before Christmas
About You
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in commercial office fit-out. Ideally, you will have:
- Proven experience managing CAT B office fit-out projects
- A strong understanding of internal fit-out and finishing packages
- Previous experience working within occupied/live buildings
- A joinery or carpentry background would be highly advantageous
- Strong subcontractor and trade management experience
- The ability to work to tight programmes and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and quality
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The confidence to take ownership of the site and drive delivery

- First Aid at Work
Previous Central London commercial fit-out experience would be advantageous.
