We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee the successful delivery of commercial and retail construction projects for a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of work. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy business delivering fast-paced refurbishment, fit-out and new build schemes across the commercial and retail sectors.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing site operations from start through to completion.
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site labour.
- Ensuring works are completed in accordance with programme and specification.
- Maintaining excellent health & safety standards across site.
- Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
- Liaising with clients, consultants and the wider project team.
- Managing site documentation including RAMS, permits and site records.
- Monitoring quality and resolving on-site issues proactively.
- Producing regular progress updates for senior management.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience managing commercial and/or retail construction projects.
- Experience delivering refurbishments, fit-outs or new build schemes.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of health & safety legislation and site compliance.
- The ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain programme.
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.

- Full UK Driving Licence
