Overview

Location: Loughton (Office-Based) • Working Pattern: Full-time, 4 days per week in the office / 1 day work from home • Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience

An established and growing construction and development organisation is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Bid Writer to join its expanding team. This is a full-time, office-based role supporting the delivery of high-quality bid submissions across a diverse portfolio of new build and refurbishment projects, including partnerships with Local Authorities and Registered Providers.

The successful candidate will play a key role in producing compelling, compliant, and timely tender responses, working closely with internal stakeholders to support continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and produce high-quality written responses for tenders, PQQs, and bid submissions
  • Lead or support end-to-end bid writing activities in line with client and framework requirements
  • Conduct detailed research to tailor responses to specific clients and opportunities
  • Collaborate with project teams, commercial teams, and senior management to gather technical and operational input
  • Edit, proofread, and review content to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy
  • Maintain and develop a central library of bid content and case studies
  • Ensure all submissions meet deadlines and comply with quality and governance standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of bid processes and documentation
  • Support presentations and written materials for client interviews when required

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a bid writing role within a construction or built environment setting
  • Strong new build experience is essential; refurbishment experience is desirable
  • Proven ability to write clear, persuasive, and professional bid responses
  • Experience working on bids involving Local Authorities, Registered Providers, or public sector frameworks
  • Excellent editing, proofreading, and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams

Qualifications (Desirable)

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field
