Overview
Location: Loughton (Office-Based) • Working Pattern: Full-time, 4 days per week in the office / 1 day work from home • Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience
An established and growing construction and development organisation is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Bid Writer to join its expanding team. This is a full-time, office-based role supporting the delivery of high-quality bid submissions across a diverse portfolio of new build and refurbishment projects, including partnerships with Local Authorities and Registered Providers.
The successful candidate will play a key role in producing compelling, compliant, and timely tender responses, working closely with internal stakeholders to support continued business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and produce high-quality written responses for tenders, PQQs, and bid submissions
- Lead or support end-to-end bid writing activities in line with client and framework requirements
- Conduct detailed research to tailor responses to specific clients and opportunities
- Collaborate with project teams, commercial teams, and senior management to gather technical and operational input
- Edit, proofread, and review content to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy
- Maintain and develop a central library of bid content and case studies
- Ensure all submissions meet deadlines and comply with quality and governance standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement of bid processes and documentation
- Support presentations and written materials for client interviews when required
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a bid writing role within a construction or built environment setting
- Strong new build experience is essential; refurbishment experience is desirable
- Proven ability to write clear, persuasive, and professional bid responses
- Experience working on bids involving Local Authorities, Registered Providers, or public sector frameworks
- Excellent editing, proofreading, and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite
- Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Qualifications (Desirable)
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field
