Are you a Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer ready to take the technical lead on highâquality residential developments? This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading, familyârun building services and construction contractor renowned for delivering sustainable, designâled housing schemes across London and the South East.
The Role
You will lead the mechanical design delivery on two newâbuild residential developments (106 and 72 units) progressing through RIBA Stages 3â4. Working closely with internal design teams, architects, and external consultants, you will be responsible for producing efficient, compliant and buildable mechanical solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Taking ownership of the full mechanical design package from concept to detailed design
- Producing and reviewing technical drawings, specifications and coordinated layouts
- Ensuring compliance with CIBSE standards and Building Regulations
- Developing lowâcarbon strategies, including communal ASHP systems in line with CIBSE CP1
- Supporting design coordination and buildability reviews with construction teams
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring within the design function
About you
- Degree or HNC/HND in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering
- Extensive experience in mechanical design for residential or mixedâuse developments â essential
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ASHP systems, CIBSE CP1 and modern lowâcarbon technologies
- Excellent coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Confidence producing detailed technical information and design deliverables
