About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Consultant to join a growing environmental business delivering projects across Doncaster and the surrounding areas. This is a hands-on role involving environmental project delivery, site assessments, groundworks and environmental improvement projects, working closely with clients, contractors and site teams. We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in environmental consultancy, environmental projects, groundworks, civils or construction project management. You don't necessarily need to have worked under the title of Environmental Consultant previously - we're also open to experienced Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Site Managers and Groundworks professionals who have relevant environmental exposure and are looking to take the next step into the environmental sector.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing and coordinating environmental projects from planning through to completion
- Carrying out site visits, assessments and investigations
- Supporting the delivery of environmental improvement and remediation projects
- Coordinating groundworks and site-based environmental works
- Working with contractors and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered correctly
- Monitoring project progress, costs, quality and timescales
- Preparing project reports and maintaining accurate project documentation
- Identifying environmental and operational risks and developing practical solutions
- Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders
- Ensuring projects comply with relevant environmental, health & safety and regulatory requirements
- Travelling to sites across Doncaster and surrounding areas
Who We're Looking For
We're open-minded about job title and background. The key thing is that you understand groundworks/construction projects, can coordinate people and works effectively, and are keen to develop within the environmental sector.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in construction, groundworks, civils, environmental projects or project coordination
- Strong understanding of groundworks/construction processes
- Experience coordinating contractors, teams or projects
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable travelling to sites across Doncaster and surrounding areas
- A proactive, practical approach to problem solving
Environmental experience or qualifications would be advantageous.
