Commercial Gas Engineer β B2B Sites (London)
Salary: Β£45,000-Β£52,000 depending on Experience. Hours: 8:00-17:00. Holidays: 28 Days incl. Bank Holiday. Package: Company Van & Fuel Card, Uniform/PPE, PDA, Training & Renewals support.
The role
Maintaining and repairing heating plant across managed sites β including schools, care homes, leisure centres, places of worship, residential blocks and offices. You\βll deliver a mix of PPM, breakdowns, repairs and upgrades on commercial systems, ensuring safe, compliant, and tidy work.
What you\βll do
- Diagnose and repair commercial boilers/burners, pumps, pressurisation units, plate heat exchangers, control valves and gas safety systems
- Complete statutory gas safety checks, tightness testing/purging (as qualified) and all RAMS/permits and job documentation
- Carry out planned maintenance and winter-readiness tasks; identify remedial works and support quotations
- Interface with BMS/controls and provide clear client updates on risks and next actions
- Use BigChange for real-time notes, photos, certificates and parts
- Participate in the call-out rota (shared fairly and scheduled in advance)
What you\βll bring
- Gas Safe with in-date commercial ACS such as CODNCO1/COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1A/TPCP1 (as applicable)
- Proven fault-finding on commercial plant rooms and good understanding of schematics/BMS interaction
- Must supply own flue gas analyser with in-date calibration certificate
- Full UK driving licence; strong communication and client-facing skills; high standard of paperwork and H&S compliance
- Desirables: F-Gas, 18th Edition, confined spaces, IPAF/PASMA, SSSTS, manufacturer training (e.g., Ideal, Hamworthy, Remeha)
- Willingness to complete DBS checks where site safeguarding requires it (e.g., schools & care settings)
