We are delighted to be working alongside Peterhead Port Authority to recruit for new roles which will support the smooth running of Peterhead Fish Market by focusing on cleaning, hygiene, and compliance tasks, ensuring the market remains safe, spotless, and audit-ready. This will be a temporary ongoing position for 6 weeks initially.
Hours: 1800 - 0600 Sunday to Thursday, 1 week on 1 week off.
Responsibilities:- Carry out regular cleaning routines to maintain the highest hygiene standards.
- Assist with hygiene compliance checks, ensuring accurate records are kept.
- Support the safe handling of equipment and materials used in daily market operations.
- Shadow colleagues to learn fish weighing, grading, and cataloguing processes.
- Assist with vessel landings and allocation of floor space under supervision.
- Provide support to the operational team as needed, developing confidence and capability in all aspects of the role.
- A motivated individual with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and develop within the fishing and market operations industry.
- Team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to high standards of hygiene and safety.
- Fish Market, Fish Processing or Fishing Vessel experience would be ideal in this environment.
- IT literate to be trained on the new processes of the e-auction sales.
