We are seeking a dedicated All-Round Operative to join our clients dynamic team in Fraserburgh. This role is essential to their operations, where you will be involved in various tasks supporting six different departments. The aim will be to spend time working in each department for a defined period and ensure all competencies and skills required to fulfil the basic functions within that department are met satisfactorily. This will allow you to become efficient in all capabilities, giving a broad and interesting scope of work and training opportunities.
Hours: 0800 to 1700 Mon to Thursday and 0800 to 1600 Friday. However, where the job role requires working shift patterns, these times will be adjusted to suit, which would be paid at your daily rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently to meet production targets.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of materials and products, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role or within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Flexibility to work additional hours or shifts as required, including overtime.
- A valid forklift licence would be advantageous but not essential, as training can be provided.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting.
- Basic mechanical skills or experience with machinery maintenance.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Training will be provided as required for the department, but will include: Plant equipment including forklift, telehandler, electric pallet truck, manual forklift, Plant machinery such as the ice factory, fish market cooling Internal such as manual handling, first aid, fire safety.
