Our client in Aberdeen has a fantastic new opportunity for a Business Development Manager to work closely with the Chartering team to provide complimentary “front end” sales and marketing leadership to enhance the ability to win work. This is a full-time permanent position.
General responsibilities:
- Identify market and charter opportunities for vessels operating in the Oil and Gas sector of the North Sea comprising of: 1) A fleet of 33 Emergency Response & Recovery Vessels (ERRV) 2) 1 vessel in Seismic Survey Operations for Offshore Energy & Oil& Gas Markets
- Develop Pursuit Planning strategies for Oil and Gas markets to position us as the choice of Supplier.
- Take the lead with prospect management for UK based Clients, develop and maintain Client Contact Plans, identify key targets and position us for future tendering opportunities.
- Develop into the Seismic & Survey Operations in Offshore Energy Markets.
- Make regular contact meetings with Clients/target Clients, develop and maintain Client Contact Reports.
- Identify and propose companies that we should consider strategic partnering to enhance the ability to win work.
- Keep track of competitors in each market sector and give feedback on any relevant market intelligence to management and commercial teams.
- Develops and manages a strong network in the offshore Oil & Gas industry & Offshore Energy Markets and maintains and enhances business relationships with customers (actual and potential), ultimately resulting in the advancement of our long-term market position.
- Develop and maintain up to date market analysis.
- Assists the Managing Director with ad-hoc strategic planning requirements.
- Comply with applicable environmental, quality, health and safety rules, procedures, laws and accepted safe work practices.
Essential skills & experience:
- Educated to Degree level.
- Proven and relevant track record in the offshore, offshore energy markets and/or shipping industry.
- Charter party knowledge, experience and overview of offshore and/or shipping markets.
- Technical/Engineering Background to manage Projects and implementation.
- Competency in developing and implementing customer plans and building long-term relationships.
- Good negotiating and problem-solving skills.
- Good commercial and analytical skills.
- Budget Management Skills
- Competency in excel spreadsheets and general computer literacy.
- Must be a team player and able to work closely with Chartering & Ship Management teams.
