Play a vital role in helping Ignite Hubs deliver high-quality, inclusive education to children and young people who need it most. We work particularly with girls, those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and those from underrepresented backgrounds in STEM. Your contribution directly supports educational equity and helps young people develop skills critical to future learning and opportunities.

What are we looking for?

  • Experienced professionals in mathematical-related roles (e.g. Data Scientists with 3 or more years’ experience).
  • Confidence with maths (GCSE level or above)
  • Good communication skills
  • A friendly, encouraging, and patient approach
  • Willingness to work as part of a team
  • Reliable and committed

You do not need to have formal teaching or prior tutoring experience.

What will you be doing?

Volunteers can join live, instructor-led online classes to support students, help create learning materials and maths projects, or review and provide feedback on curriculum and lesson plans. Volunteers may choose one area or a combination of areas, depending on their interests and availability. Classes run during term time on weekday evenings (typically between 5pm to 6pm or 6pm to 7pm).
