Ignite Hubs is a volunteer-led charity looking to pioneer innovative and exciting ways for children and young people to learn. We are looking for an experienced Salesforce Developer to help us maintain and enhance our Salesforce instance and utilisation.

What difference will you make?

Play a vital role in helping Ignite Hubs deliver high-quality, inclusive education to children and young people who need it most. We work particularly with girls, those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and those from underrepresented backgrounds in STEM. Your contribution directly supports educational equity and helps young people develop skills critical to future learning and opportunities.

As the charity scales, we recognise the importance of data and how this can add value. We want to be data-driven and insight-led, making better decisions that allow us to intelligently service our students, parents, volunteers and funders. By helping improve how our data is stored, managed and used, you will be supporting everything we do and essentially the students that come to learn with us.

What are we looking for?

  • You have 3+ years of experience in hands-on Salesforce development using configuration, APEX, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and various Salesforce.com capabilities as well as REST APIs.
  • You have experience designing and implementing solutions to meet the requirements of the organisation by making the best use of Salesforce for Nonprofits solution.
  • You have experience developing frontend as well as backend code for online/digital platforms that are user-intuitive, responsive and accessible.
  • You have experience working on agile teams and can work closely with product owner and other volunteer engineers.
  • You are proactive and willing to take ownership and deliver quality work that matches the highest industry standards.
  • You are flexible with your time commitment and willing to work towards tight deadlines occasionally.
  • You have experience building out Salesforce data models and schemas and knowledge of data management best practices.
  • You have experience with Salesforce integrations using APIs and web services.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Salesforce Developer to help maintain and enhance our customisations and integrate our Salesforce for Nonprofits Cloud solution with other systems to meet our strategic vision and goals. As part of the Engineering team you will be reporting to our CTO and work closely with our founder and other engineers.

You will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of our Salesforce (NPSP) instance and help develop other projects that require integrations with the data held in Salesforce. You will integrate internal/external APIs and work with infosec to establish best practices that allow seamless data integration and flow.

Our Salesforce instance has received contributions from multiple volunteers. Consequently, over the years the code quality and standards have eroded. You will help upgrade the code quality and establish best practices and standards.
