About Ignite Hubs
Ignite Hubs is an education charity for children and young people aged 7 to 18 years old. We aim to provide the best learning environment for children and young people from all backgrounds and abilities. We place a special emphasis on engaging underrepresented groups, including girls, ethnic minorities, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
We currently teach coding, STEM and creative writing teaching over 200 students each week and have positively impacted more than 1,000 children and young people since we started. Our educational offerings include five weekly virtual classes and four weekly in-person classes during term time at various libraries throughout Southwark, SE London.
Our long-term ambition is to offer nationwide classes, workshops and events to children and young people on a wide variety of subjects under our five educational Hubs: Code, STEM, Innovation & Enterprise, Creativity and Health & Wellbeing.
We are looking for a talented Head of AI to lead and develop Ignite Hubs’ AI strategy, aligning with our mission and objectives. This is a key role to shape the development of AI within an innovative education charity, creating a better learning experience for our students and fostering greater engagement with volunteers and staff.
Key projects:
~ AI integration into the Ignite Learning Hub – Use AI to enhance our online learning platform (built on Moodle and Articulate for content) to deliver a personalised and adaptive learning experience.
~ Career Development Functionality – Offer AI-driven features to enhance career exploration and development, skills mapping to careers, mentor matching, and a job board.
~ AI integration into the Ignite Portal – Enhance our internal platform for managing volunteers and staff to streamline and improve the life lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to engagement and offboarding.
~ Develop AI Educational Courses – Lead or oversee the creation of AI educational courses for students. Collaborate with instructors to create engaging content and curriculum.
