About The Practice

Our client is an AJ100 architecture practice recognised for its commitment to design quality, technical excellence, and sustainable delivery. Their Technical Services Team sits at the heart of the studio’s success, providing expert guidance to project teams on construction detailing, specification writing, and regulatory compliance. Working alongside the Director of Legal and Technical Services, this team ensures that every project is delivered with precision, clarity, and buildable quality — supporting architects and job runners across the practice while upholding industry‑leading standards.

About The Role

We’re seeking a Technical Architect, Architectural Assistant, or Technologist with 7–10 years’ professional experience and strong RIBA Stage 4–5 knowledge. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical and procedural aspects of architecture and thrives on helping others achieve excellence. You’ll collaborate across multiple design teams, reviewing projects, providing guidance on detailing and specification, and contributing to in‑house CPDs and technical research. This is not a design role, but rather an opportunity to shape best practice within one of London’s most respected studios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide design teams with expert advice on construction techniques, materials, and regulations
  • Assist in the preparation and review of project specifications and technical documentation
  • Undertake technical research to support design innovation and regulatory compliance
  • Contribute to in‑house CPD sessions, knowledge sharing, and mentoring
  • Review project compliance against Building Regulations and standards
  • Support quality assurance, risk management, and professional best practice procedures
  • Liaise with internal teams (BIM, Sustainability, Future Technologies) and industry bodies

About You

  • Architect, Technologist, or experienced Architectural Assistant with 7–10 years’ UK project experience
  • Deep understanding of Stage 4–5 delivery, detailing, and specification writing
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative, mentoring approach
  • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction methods
  • Passionate about technical excellence, research, and continuous learning
  • Approachable and proactive in supporting colleagues across multiple teams

Why Apply

  • Join one of London’s leading AJ100 practices with a reputation for design and delivery excellence
  • Opportunity to influence and improve technical standards across multiple high‑profile UK projects
  • Collaborative, supportive working environment with a focus on knowledge sharing

Employee Benefits

  • Flexibility: Discretionary flex‑hours and WFH on Fridays
  • Holidays: 20 days annual leave + bank holidays, plus extra office closure at Christmas
  • Pension: Employer contributions via Standard Life
  • Professional Support: ARB/RIBA fees paid; study support (£1,500 + 10 days leave for Part 3)
  • Wellbeing: Funded sports teams, discounted gym membership, and free yoga/meditation classes
  • Creative Development: Life drawing sessions, CPD events, and mentoring schemes
  • Cycle & Commute: Cycle‑to‑Work scheme, showers, lockers, and travel season ticket loans
  • Family & Health: Enhanced parental leave, eye‑care support, and employee assistance programme
