A leading, AJ100-listed architecture practice is seeking an experienced Senior HR Manager to join its leadership team. This is a key strategic role within a large, creative, and fast-paced professional services environment.
The practice is internationally recognised for design excellence and employs a diverse workforce across multiple studios and disciplines. The Senior HR Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping people strategy, supporting senior leadership, and driving best-in-class HR operations.
The Role
Reporting into senior management, the Senior HR Manager will oversee the full HR function, providing both strategic direction and hands-on leadership across the practice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing the HR team and HR operations
- Partnering with Directors and Studio Leaders on people strategy
- Overseeing employee relations, performance management, and policy development
- Managing recruitment strategy in collaboration with internal and external partners
- Supporting organisational growth, restructuring, and change initiatives
- Driving learning, development, and succession planning
- Ensuring compliance with UK employment law and best practice
- Championing culture, wellbeing, DE&I, and employee engagement initiatives
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in a Senior HR Manager or HR Business Partner role
- Background within architecture, design, construction, or professional services preferred
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Experience supporting senior stakeholders and leadership teams
- Confident managing complex employee relations matters
- Experience leading HR teams and managing HR processes at scale
- Commercially minded with excellent interpersonal skills
Desirable
- CIPD qualified (Level 5 or 7)
- Experience working within a large creative or design-led organisation
- Experience supporting multi-office or international teams
