Associate Director – Landscape Architecture

We’re proud to be partnering with a highly successful AJ100-listed architecture practice that is embarking on an exciting new chapter—establishing an in-house Landscape Design team to complement their already thriving architecture, urban design, and interiors divisions.
This forward-thinking and design-led studio recognises the vital role of landscape architecture in shaping cohesive, sustainable, and inspiring environments. Having successfully collaborated with external landscape consultants across a diverse portfolio, they are now seeking a visionary Associate Director – Landscape Architecture to lead, grow, and champion this new discipline within the practice.
The Role:
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership position for an experienced and ambitious landscape architect ready to make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the development of the landscape architecture discipline, shaping its vision and long-term strategy
- Actively contribute to bids and business development, securing both integrated and standalone landscape commissions
- Recruit, manage, and mentor a growing in-house team of landscape designers
- Deliver high-quality landscape design on architectural, urban design, and masterplanning projects
- Champion innovative and sustainable approaches to contemporary landscape architecture across the practice
- Collaborate with internal teams and external experts (e.g. horticulturalists) to bring holistic landscape solutions to life
- Elevate the visibility of landscape design both internally and externally, positioning the studio as a leader in integrated design
What The Client is Looking For:
- Proven experience at Associate Director or Partner level within a respected landscape, architecture, or urban design studio
- A strong portfolio of delivered landscape projects across multiple sectors and scales
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate seamlessly with architects and urban designers
- Industry presence and a reputation for innovation and leadership
- Strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative, diplomatic approach
- A passion for shaping places through sustainable and people-centred design
