Igne is seeking a Project Engineering Geologist to join the Ground Investigation (GI) Division in Hamilton or Aberdeen. This is a fulltime, permanent position that will require travel. This role offers a mix of site and office based work and provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a diverse portfolio of ground investigation and geotechnical projects across Scotland. You will be responsible for managing large, complex ground investigation projects and writing first class interpretative reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with planning and preparation of GI’s
  • Manage and act as part of a team on small to large scale GI’s ensuring compliance with specification and contractual documents
  • Soil and rock core logging in compliance with BS5930 / Eurocode 7
  • Manage project data including AGS, laboratory schedules, logs etc. to client requirements
  • Writing factual reports and assistance in interpretive report writing
  • Preparation of risk assessments and method statements
Person Specification:
  • A degree in Engineering, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related discipline is essential.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical investigation techniques, soil mechanics and geology
  • Experience running small and medium ground investigation projects from Contract Award to completion
  • Extensive experience producing factual reports to a high standard within timescales allowed
  • Ability to manage time effectively to ensure timeous client communication and deadlines are met
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites
