Igne is seeking a Principal Geo-environmental Engineer to join our expanding Geotechnical Environmental Engineering team based in Warrington. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take a lead role in delivering technically robust, commercially focused geo-environmental solutions across a diverse range of projects.
You will lead the design and implementation of ground investigations, provide expert interpretation and risk assessment, and play a key role in mentoring and developing team members. You will have the opportunity to influence project strategy, client engagement and the development of high-quality deliverables that reflect our reputation for excellence.
- Lead the design and delivery of Preliminary Risk Assessments and Intrusive Ground Investigations, including soil and rock logging, sampling and in-situ testing.
- Interpret and report on geoenvironmental data, undertaking human health and groundwater risk assessments using industry-standard tools such as LCRM, ConSim, RBCA, SNIFFER, BP RISC and the EA Remedial Targets methodology.
- Provide clear, commercially focused advice on contaminated land and planning matters, tailored to client and project needs.
- Manage projects effectively, from tender and proposal preparation through to delivery and client liaison.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and professional development.
BSc or BEng in a relevant Geological or Environmental discipline (MSc desirable). Proven track record in project management, client development and technical delivery. Strong understanding of contaminated land legislation and the UK planning regime. Full UK driving licence (UK travel required). Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Experience in geotechnical design (earthworks, foundations, retaining structures, slope stability).
Salary on offer is £42,000 - £50,000 depending on experience. We operate a hybrid model (minimum 3 days in the office) and offer 33 days holiday inclusive.
