Field Technician – Construction Materials Testing
Igne is seeking a Field Laboratory Technicianwithin the Construction Materials Testing Division to join the thrivingBellshill team. But, if you’re imagining working in a sterile environment with a white coat, this is not the laboratory role for you! We test ground and soil samples with the very latest technology to support our construction sector clients to find cost-effective solutions for their building projects.
This role will involve working out on site obtaining various soil and construction material samples and testing them in-situ.Consideration will be given to experienced field technicians and also those without experience as full training will be provided. What we do need is for you to have a clean UK driving license and a desire to work outdoors in all weathers. This is a full-time job with excellent rates of pay and overtime (both in the week and over the weekend), and the opportunity to work in an exciting and growing sector along with excellent career opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
- On-site testing and sampling of various construction materials e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt
- Completion of test sheets and data entry onto tablets
- Liaising with senior members of staff on work schedules and testing procedures
- Working within in-house quality assurance systems
- Maintain high levels of health and safety in line with company policies
Your Qualifications:
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
About You:
- Clean UK driving licence
- You will need good communication skills – both written and verbal
- Manual handling and physical activity are daily requirements – samples can weigh in excess of 20kg
- You must be confident to work in a team environment and on your own
- Self-motivated, proactive and able to organise your own workload
- Previous experience in a UKAS accredited testing environment in a similar role
- Knowledge of testing standards and processes
- CSCS card

- Basic salary is £26,208 – upwards (DOE) Overtime is available after 40 hours and weekends at enhanced rates
