Igne are seeking to appoint a Senior Engineering Geologist to join the successful and expanding Ground Investigation Division (GI England) based from Chester-le-Street, County Durham. You will be responsible for managing large complex ground investigation projects and have the expertise to write first class interpretative reports. Key responsibilities:
- Collect, validate, and log subsurface data, including borehole logs, sampling records, and geophysical survey outputs.
- Perform geological interpretation of site data to develop factual logs and initial ground models.
- Contribute to technical reporting, preparing factual geotechnical logs, laboratory data summaries, and interpretative narratives.
- Maintain project schedules and resource allocations in collaboration with the Geotechnical Co‐ordinator.
- Support tender preparation by providing scope input, cost estimates, and technical write‐ups.
- Monitor specialist equipment usage and report any maintenance or calibration requirements.
- Oversee and manage ground investigation projects.
Requirements for this position:
- Bachelor or Masters' degree in a related subject (Geotechnical Engineering, Geology and Environmental Science or related discipline).
- Previous experience in contract management of ground investigation projects.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and reporting abilities.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Full driving licence (travel is required).
Salary & Benefits:
£35,000 to £40,000 per annum and generous benefits: 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), option to buy and sell annual leave, life assurance, pension scheme, enhanced maternity and paternity pay.
