Igne is looking for a Geotechnical Reports Engineer to join our team in Chester-le-Street, Durham. This is an excellent opportunity to join as part of the GI England & Wales division, contributing to high-quality reporting and interpretation of ground investigation data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Soil and rock logging in compliance with relevant British Standards/Eurocodes
- Quality checking of driller and engineering exploratory hole records
- Processing and reviewing site data (monitoring, testing data, groundwater loggers, vibrating wire piezometers, inclinometer readings etc.)
- Correlating exploratory hole records with laboratory testing
- Factual reporting and documentation
- Producing and checking AGS data
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in soil and rock logging
- Background in factual reporting (recent experience preferred but not essential)
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
- Experience correlating exploratory hole records and geotechnical laboratory testing
- Knowledge of Openground (desirable but training provided)
- A degree in Geology or closely related discipline
- Enthusiasm to refresh skills and grow within an office-based technical role
