Igne is looking for an experienced Principal Geo-environmental Engineer to take a lead role within our expanding Geotechnical Environmental Engineering team in Walsall. This is an opportunity to shape project strategy, deliver technically robust geo-environmental solutions, and mentor the next generation of engineers, all while working across a diverse portfolio of projects.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading Preliminary Risk Assessments and ground investigations from design through to delivery
  • Interpreting geoenvironmental data and undertaking human health and groundwater risk assessments (LCRM, ConSim, RBCA, SNIFFER, BP RISC, EA Remedial Targets)
  • Advising clients on contaminated land, remediation strategies, and planning matters
  • Managing projects end-to-end—tenders, proposals, delivery, and client liaison
  • Mentoring junior engineers and driving technical excellence across the team

What we're looking for:

  • BSc/BEng in a relevant Geological or Environmental discipline (MSc desirable)
  • Proven experience in contaminated land assessment, project management, and client development
  • Strong grasp of contaminated land legislation and UK planning requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence (travel required)
