Igne Group is seeking a Trainee Laboratory Technician to join its Construction Materials Testing Division in Daventry. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to begin a hands‑on career in construction materials testing – no prior experience required.
As a Trainee Laboratory Technician you will be carrying out tests on a range of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt, while accurately completing test sheets and entering data onto tablets. The position also requires regular communication with senior staff to coordinate work schedules and ensure that testing procedures are followed correctly. Key & Responsibilities- Testing various construction materials – soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt
- Completion of test sheets and data entry onto tablets
- Liaising with senior members of staff on work schedules and testing procedures
- Working within in‑house quality assurance systems
- Maintaining high levels of health and safety in line with company policies
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Manual handling and physical activity are daily requirements – samples can weigh in excess of 15kg
- Self‑motivated, proactive and able to organise your own workload
- Confidence in working in a team environment
- Up to £28,000 per annum
