We are seeking an experienced and proactive Accounts Supervisor to join our growing Finance team based in Ross-on-Wye.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development of a newly centralised Finance function.

As the business continues to evolve, the successful candidate will help build, support and develop a high-performing transactional finance team, ensuring excellent service, strong financial controls and efficient processes across the Group.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day Accounts Payable and banking activities, whilst supporting the development of colleagues, driving process improvements and helping to embed best practice across the Finance function.

This role would suit an experienced Accounts Supervisor or Senior Finance professional looking to take the next step in their career within a growing and ambitious business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, support and develop the Accounts Payable and banking team, including onboarding and integrating new team members.
  • Help establish and embed a high-performing transactional finance function within a centralised operating model.
  • Oversee all day-to-day transactional finance activities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and excellent internal service.
  • Ensure timely processing of supplier payments, sales invoicing, customer receipts, expenses and banking transactions.
  • Manage reconciliations, controls, audit trails and compliance with company policies and approval processes.
  • Produce KPI reporting, management information and performance updates for finance leadership.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and controls.
  • Support finance transformation, change initiatives and wider business projects.

You will be an organised and detail-oriented finance professional with proven supervisory experience and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Experience

  • Strong understanding of transactional finance, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control and banking.
  • Advanced Excel, ERP systems and financial analysis skills.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing finance team members.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercially aware, proactive and solutions focused.
  • Able to work accurately under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience supporting change, process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • A collaborative approach with a focus on delivering excellent internal customer service.

Desirable

  • Experience within the construction, engineering or related sectors.
  • Experience using Evision
  • Experience in a similar finance role.
  • AAT qualification desirable.
