Are you looking to take the next step in your Materials Testing career? We are looking for a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our brand new Bristol facility. This is a rare opportunity to take on supervisory responsibility while playing a key role in establishing and growing a new laboratory. If you’re ready to progress, lead and mentor junior colleagues and uphold the highest standards of quality, this could be the ideal next move for you.
As a Senior Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for preparing and testing construction materials, accurately recording and managing sample data, maintaining calibrated and safe laboratory equipment, and ensuring correct sample handling. You will also support and mentor Trainee Technicians while contributing to wider laboratory duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities- Preparation and testing of samples including concrete, soils, aggregates and bituminous mixtures.
- Completion and checking of testing worksheets and accurate recording of data.
- Correct identification, marking, registration, and storage of samples.
- Ensuring all laboratory equipment is maintained, calibrated and safe for use.
- Supervising, mentoring and supporting Trainee Technicians to develop their skills.
- Undertaking other duties as required to support the lab and wider business.
- Proven experience in laboratory testing of concrete, soils, aggregates & bituminous mixtures.
- Strong knowledge of UKAS accredited laboratory practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and motivate others.
- High customer service ethic, with a passion for meeting and exceeding expectations.
- Commitment to QHSE protocols and safe working practices.
- Circa £30,000 per year
