Igne is looking to appoint a Monitoring Technician to join our Ground Investigation Division in Scotland, based from Hamilton, Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and progressive geotechnical contractor. The role is full-time, offering competitive pay, overtime opportunities (weekdays and weekends), and genuine career progression within an exciting and expanding sector. You will need a full UK driving licence and a willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
About the Role
This varied field-based position involves obtaining and testing a range of gas and water samples in-situ. Consideration will be given to both experienced field technicians and those new to the industry, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- On-site monitoring of gas and water levels
- Groundwater sampling and inclinometer readings
- Completion of test sheets and data entry using tablets
- Working within in-house quality assurance systems
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety in line with company policies
Essential Skills & Attributes
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Confident working in a team environment
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word
- Self-motivated and able to manage your own workload
Desirable
- Previous experience within a UKAS-accredited testing environment
- Knowledge of relevant testing standards and processes
Salary & Benefits
- Basic salary circa £29,500, dependent on experience
- Overtime available after 45 hours and at enhanced weekend rates
- 33 days’ holiday (including bank holidays)
