Igne are seeking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Senior Engineering Geologist to join their successful and expanding Ground Investigation Division (GI Scotland) based from Hamilton, Glasgow. You will be responsible for managing large complex ground investigation projects and have the expertise to write first class interpretative reports. It will be expected that you bring a significant amount of experience and be chartered or actively working towards it.

Key responsibilities:- Site investigation contract supervision / management (of drilling rigs and personnel) and liaising with clients
- Soil and rock logging to current guidelines
- Trial pitting works
- In-situ testing
- Environmental groundwater / gas monitoring and sampling
- Timely submission of site information, such as drilling records, weekly timesheets etc
- Health and safety responsibilities in connection with preparing site-specific working practice documentation, site inductions and ensuring site operative welfare and safety
- Bachelor or Masters’ degree in a related subject (Geotechnical Engineering, Geology/Hydrogeology and Environmental Science or related discipline)
- Previous experience in contract management of ground investigation projects
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and reporting abilities
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Full driving licence (travel is required)
- Up to £45,000 per annum depending on experience
