The role
This is a senior, hands‑on role combining 3rd line technical escalation, project delivery and pre‑sales support. You’ll work closely with our Senior Infrastructure Engineers, CTO and wider support teams to ensure:
- complex issues are resolved quickly and professionally
- projects are delivered on time with minimal customer disruption
- sales teams are supported with robust, well‑designed technical solutions
You’ll also be the go‑to internal contact for EDR/SOC security incidents and projects.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a 3rd line escalation point for complex technical issues
- Deliver business‑critical infrastructure, network and security projects
- Support the sales team with technical pre‑sales advice and solution design
- Own and manage your support tickets and project queue, meeting SLAs
- Maintain clear, professional and consistent customer communication
- Escalate issues to Senior Engineers, CTO or Leadership when required
- Perform configuration and rebuilds on network and server infrastructure
- Manage and support Azure and Microsoft 365 environments
- Troubleshoot and configure site‑to‑site VPNs, SSL certificates and web servers
- Lead on EDR/SOC incident response and cyber security projects
- Attend customer sites where required
- Work closely with internal teams and third‑party vendors
What we’re looking for
You’ll be an experienced engineer with strong technical ability and a customer‑first mindset.
Essential
- ~4+ years in a 3rd line (or senior 2nd line) engineering role
- ~ Strong networking knowledge: IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs
- ~ Solid experience with firewalls and network security
- ~ Microsoft 365 administration
- ~ Conditional Access, Intune, MAM & MDM policies
- ~ Windows Server (2016 / 2022 / 2025)
- ~ Active Directory & Group Policy
- ~ Apple iOS and macOS support
- ~ Excellent written and verbal communication
- ~ Strong time management and problem‑solving skills
Desirable
- MSP or outsourced IT experience
- Datto RMM / Autotask PSA
- Azure servers and Virtual Desktop
- Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki or WatchGuard firewalls
- VMware / Hyper‑V
- PowerShell scripting
- SharePoint administration
- Microsoft 365 Governance and DLP
- ISO 27001 / CIS framework awareness
- Relevant professional certifications (MCSE, CCNA, CompTIA, etc.)
