Iglu Ski is the UK's largest ski holiday agent, passionate about getting our customers on the slopes. We are a dynamic, fast-paced business that values innovation and customer focus. We're looking for an SEO, Content and Retention Marketing Manager to take ownership of both our SEO strategy and implementation, and email marketing and customer retention.
The Role
We are looking for a versatile, commercially minded marketer who can own both our organic search performance and our customer relationships. You will be the keeper of our editorial voice online and the architect of our email and loyalty programme – two disciplines that, done well, amplify each other enormously in a high-consideration, seasonal category like ski travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the SEO strategy end-to-end: technical health, on-page optimisation, content gaps, and high-converting keyword targeting.
- Plan and implement content strategies that will deliver our ambitious AEO/GEO growth targets, increasing citation rate, search visibility and traffic from LMMs.
- Build and maintain a rolling content calendar aligned to seasonal search demand – from early-season resort guides to late-booking deal content.
- Write, commission, and edit high-quality web copy, content and structure including: commercial and destination pages, blog articles, resort reviews, and landing pages.
- Collaborate with the Junior Creative on visual and the Paid Manager on shared keyword insights and landing page performance.
- Own the relationship with our web developer for technical SEO improvements (site speed, structured data, crawlability).
- Monitor, report on, and continuously improve organic traffic, rankings, and content engagement metrics from both Google and LLMs.
- Keep destination and product content accurate, on-brand, and compelling across the full site.
- Manage the full email programme: campaign planning, segmentation, copywriting, build, send, and post-send analysis.
- Develop and refine automated lifecycle journeys – welcome series, booking confirmations, pre-departure, post-trip, and re-engagement flows.
- Own our customer database: maintain data quality, grow the list responsibly, and ensure GDPR compliance.
- Implement our loyalty and repeat-customer strategy, identifying opportunities to increase LTV and encourage referrals.
- Work with the Head of Marketing to develop personalisation: the right message to the right customer at the right moment in the booking cycle.
- Set up and manage A/B tests across subject lines, content, send times, and audience segments; turn findings into clear recommendations.
- Produce regular performance reporting: open rates, click rates, conversion, revenue attribution, and list health.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-starter with a passion for marketing and data. We are seeking a motivated individual ready to take the reins and make the role their own, with the ambition to grow - travel experience is a plus, and a love of skiing or snowboarding is a must have!
Experience
- Proven experience in both SEO/content and CRM/email marketing – agency, in-house, or a combination of both.
- Confident using SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, SimilarWeb and Google Search Console.
- Understanding of GA4 and attribution.
- Hands‑on experience with an email service provider (e.g., Klaviyo, Dotdigital, Mailchimp, HubSpot or similar) including building automations.
- Strong copywriting skills with an eye for tone: warm, knowledgeable, and aspirational – the voice of a ski expert, not a generic travel brand.
- Analytically comfortable: you can pull your own data, spot trends, and present findings clearly.
- Organised and self‑directing – able to manage multiple workstreams across a seasonal calendar without needing to be chased.
- Genuine passion for travel; comfortable writing about mountains, resorts, and snow sports with authority.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in travel, tourism, is desirable.
- Familiarity with a CMS (WordPress, Contentful, or similar) and basic HTML/CSS confidence.
- Experience integrating CRM activity with paid retargeting audiences.
- A personal love of skiing or snowboarding – critical to writing with conviction and connecting with our audience.
