We are currently recruiting a Paint Sprayer Team Leader to join our client’s busy vehicle refurbishment operation in Bicester. You’ll oversee a team of experienced paint sprayers working on large commercial vehicles, including buses and coaches, ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and efficiency standards. In this hands-on role, you’ll manage daily paint operations, coordinate workloads, inspect completed work, and drive continuous improvement across the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the paint department, maintaining high quality and productivity levels.
  • Allocate tasks and manage workflow in line with production schedules.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure finished work meets required standards.
  • Support and train paint sprayers to maintain consistency and develop skills.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies, including PPE and material handling procedures.
  • Liaise with other supervisors and planners to coordinate vehicle flow and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Maintain accurate records for paint usage, output, and team performance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Be prepared to assist with paint spraying tasks when required to support team output and meet deadlines.

The Person:

  • Previous experience in automotive or industrial paint spraying (essential).
  • Supervisory or team leader experience within a paint or bodyshop environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of paint preparation, application, and finishing processes.
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality finishes.
  • Confident communicator with good interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations related to paint spraying.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-output environment.
  • Proficient in basic IT and production tracking systems.
