We're looking for a Transport Manager to take the reins at our Leeds depot and lead it from the front, every day. About Igloo Thermo Logistics For over 20 years, Igloo has kept temperature-controlled freight moving across the UK. From our five operational sites in Leeds, Luton (x2), Taunton and Scotland, we run a fleet of more than 125 temperature-controlled vehicles, from Sprinters through to artics, delivering a national multi-temperature network. The role Based at our Leeds depot, you'll lead a team of 50+ drivers and 5+ office staff, taking full ownership of the daily operation, compliance and people performance. This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll be the person the team looks to, the one who plans ahead, spots the problems before they land and isn't afraid to jump in a vehicle and deliver to customers when the day demands it. You'll bring a proven track record in accident reduction, delivery compliance and recruitment, and you'll use it to keep raising the bar. What you'll be doing Leading the team Managing drivers and the day-to-day operation Recruiting, training and developing staff Running performance and probation reviews Producing and approving payroll Conducting investigations and disciplinaries when required Making sure the right resource is in place for every day's delivery requirement Running a compliant operation Keeping vehicles roadworthy in line with the DVSA Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness Monitoring and controlling drivers' hours in line with EC regulations Strictly following the PMI schedule and managing all aspects of Operator Compliance Scheduling vehicle and equipment maintenance with service agents or in-house Ensuring all accidents and incidents are reported in line with company and HSE policy Maintaining high standards of vehicle cleanliness and security Delivering for customers Ensuring every delivery is signed for, on paper or PDA Keeping all PDAs in full working order and getting them repaired fast Maintaining and updating the TMS Producing and sharing daily reports, including Van Usage and Depot Costings Clearly communicating delivery and service performance, including failure reporting, across departments Representing Transport in all relevant meetings and coordinating with other teams What we're looking for Transport Manager CPC (essential) Strong leadership, coaching and motivational skills β you get the best out of people Self-driven and results-focused, with a clear appetite for exceeding targets A natural planner who critically assesses performance and learns from it A clear, confident communicator at every level of the business Able to build and maintain excellent relationships with service agents and driver agencies Able to analyse trends and turn them into practical improvements Sound knowledge of the UK road network A solid understanding of Health
