We are recruiting a Senior HGV Technician for a well-established vehicle maintenance operation in Corby. This role is ideal for an experienced technician who can lead on complex diagnostics, support junior staff, and maintain high technical standards across the workshop.
The Role:
- Lead advanced diagnostics on complex and intermittent faults
- Carry out and oversee major mechanical repairs including engines, gearboxes, and drivetrains
- Support and mentor apprentices and technicians to improve workshop capability
- Complete servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance to DVSA standards
- Conduct MOT inspections and quality control checks where required
- Ensure all job cards and documentation are completed accurately
- Maintain workshop cleanliness, safety, and professional standards
- Ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to required quality levels
Experience & Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification in HGV Maintenance
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification HGV technician experience
- Strong diagnostic capability using Jaltest or manufacturer systems
- Excellent understanding of DVSA regulations and compliance
- Confident communicator with the ability to support and guide others
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
- Main dealer experience
- Car transporter experience
- LGV C+E licence (training may be available)
