The Role

As an MET Technician, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient strip-down and reassembly of vehicles in line with approved repair estimates and methods. You’ll play a key role in ensuring repairs are completed accurately, on time, and to the highest quality standards within a busy bodyshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strip and refit vehicles in line with repair estimates, methods, and procedures
  • Carry out all dismantling and reassembly work to a high standard, ensuring quality checks are completed throughout
  • Identify and report any deviations from the estimate or repair methods to the estimator immediately
  • Advise the Bodyshop Team Leader of any additional work identified during the repair process
  • Ensure all work is completed within allocated repair times
  • Check parts availability against estimates to prevent delays, returning unused parts for credit where applicable
  • Supervise and support non-qualified staff when required
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and safety-related materials are in date and fit for purpose
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards and comply with all health and safety regulations
  • Undertake additional reasonable duties as required by management

Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an MET Technician role
  • ATA accreditation preferred but not essential
  • Strong understanding of bodyshop repair processes and methods
  • Ability to work accurately from job cards and estimates
  • Good attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider bodyshop team
