Igloo is looking for a Level 2 Vehicle Technician to join a busy automotive vehicle processing site in Chipping Warden. This role will primarily focus on tyre removal and refitting on nearly new vehicles to support wheel refurbishment processes, with additional mechanical duties when required.

The Role

  • Remove and refit tyres from vehicles so wheels can undergo refurbishment such as painting or diamond cutting.
  • Replace tyres on 1–2 year old vehicles to a high standard.
  • Carry out wheel balancing and ensure correct torque settings when refitting wheels.
  • Support pre-delivery inspections and basic vehicle servicing when tyre volumes are lower.
  • Assist with general vehicle repairs and maintenance when required.
  • Identify and report any vehicle defects to the relevant teams.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.

The Person

  • Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Repair & Maintenance – essential.
  • Previous experience removing and refitting tyres, including wheel balancing and torque setting wheel nuts.
  • Own tool kit required for the role.
  • Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points for minor offences).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Able to work reliably, follow processes and work independently.
