An established, globally recognised organisation is seeking a Senior Actuarial Reserving Manager to join its reserving function in London. This is a high-profile opportunity offering significant variety, leadership exposure, and the chance to play a key role in a progressive, growing environment.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Manager, you will play a central role in both delivery and the ongoing development of the reserving team. You’ll work across a broad range of business areas, contributing to key decisions and helping shape future direction. The role offers flexibility in technical focus depending on your background and interests: pure reserving role (up to 100%), or blended role (c.70% reserving + 30% capital modelling and/or pricing). This makes it well suited to both deep reserving specialists and those looking to broaden their impact across the actuarial spectrum. No prior capital or pricing experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actuarial Reserving: Lead and perform reserve reviews under multiple accounting bases (e.g. IFRS 17, Solvency II) across specialty and retail lines.
  • Project Leadership: Lead complex actuarial initiatives end-to-end, ensuring high-quality delivery and timely outcomes.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Deliver clear, insight-driven actuarial reporting and present findings to senior executives and board-level stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across the business, including finance, risk, underwriting, and audit, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with underwriting, claims, and finance teams to link reserving with pricing and broader business strategy.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Business Planning & Development: Contribute to forward-looking initiatives, process improvements, and the development of new capabilities.
  • Function Development: Play a key role in shaping team operations, innovation, and continuous improvement.
