We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller with strong Lloyd’s of London / syndicate finance experience to support key financial reporting and planning activities. This role requires a technically strong accountant / actuary who can operate confidently in a regulated insurance environment and engage effectively with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver accurate financial reporting within a Lloyd’s / syndicate framework
- Oversee balance sheet integrity and reconciliation processes
- Support financial accounting activities in line with regulatory and internal requirements
- Prepare and submit Lloyd’s returns
- Ensure compliance with Lloyd’s reporting standards and timelines
- Support audit processes and regulatory queries
- Provide financial support across syndicate operations and MGA structures
- Ensure clear financial visibility across underwriting and operational activities
- Support the business planning process within a Lloyd’s environment
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cashflow planning
- Partner with stakeholders to align financial plans with business strategy
- Work closely with the CFO and senior leadership team
- Present financial insights, reporting outputs, and forecasts clearly and confidently
Key Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) or Qualified Actuary (FIA or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role
- Strong Lloyd’s of London / syndicate finance experience (essential)

The role is paying £700 - 850 p/d inside IR35 via an Umbrella company and the successful applicant will need to be available to start the role by mid‑June.
