KYC Analyst (3-MONTH CONTRACT WITH VIEW TO EXTENSION)

The Opportunity
We are working with a growing financial services organisation seeking a KYC Analyst to join its Newcastle-based team. This role will be responsible for conducting customer due diligence, supporting client onboarding, and ensuring compliance with AML, sanctions, and regulatory requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with KYC, CDD, EDD, or financial crime experience who is looking to develop their career within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews for new and existing clients.
- Complete customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) investigations.
- Review corporate ownership structures, beneficial ownership, trusts, partnerships, and complex entities.
- Assess client risk profiles and ensure appropriate documentation has been obtained.
- Perform sanctions, PEP, adverse media, and screening checks.
- Identify and escalate financial crime risks and suspicious activity where appropriate.
- Liaise with front office, compliance, and operational teams to resolve KYC-related queries.
- Support periodic reviews and remediation projects.
- Ensure all records are maintained accurately and in line with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to process improvements and regulatory change initiatives.
Requirements
- Previous experience within KYC, AML, CDD, EDD, Financial Crime, or Client Onboarding.
- Experience reviewing both individual and corporate customers.
- Understanding of AML regulations and financial crime controls.
- Ability to analyse complex ownership structures and source supporting documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and investigative mindset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases while meeting deadlines.
