Role: Senior Operational Accountant
Type: Contract, Inside IR35
Location: 1-2 days per week onsite in Fareham
Rate: £500-£700 per day, depending on experience
I’m working with a well-established insurance business undergoing a significant systems and process transition, and they’re looking to bring in three experienced interim accountants to support during this period. These roles are focused on keeping BAU running smoothly while the internal team focuses on transformation. This is a hands-on accounting role, not a technical or IFRS-heavy position.
Key responsibilities:
- Balance sheet reconciliations (review, investigation, resolution)
- Ledger management and journal postings
- Month-end close and controls
- Clearing aged balances and resolving issues
- Working with and supporting offshore teams
What they’re looking for:
- Strong hands-on accounting experience (recs, controls, month-end)
- Background in insurance (life preferred, but not essential)
- Ability to come in and add value quickly
- Comfortable working at a detailed level
