A unique opportunity for a qualified actuary to join a dynamic organisation in a high-impact role. This position is ideal for someone looking to blend capital modelling expertise with a strategic role in transforming actuarial pricing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Capital Modelling: Maintain and enhance the Internal Capital Model in compliance with Lloyd’s and Solvency II standards. Deliver capital model outputs (SCRs, capital loadings, allocation metrics) to support business planning, reinsurance strategy, and performance monitoring. Collaborate with risk, reserving, and validation teams. Support ORSA production, stress testing, scenario analysis, and board-level reporting.
- Pricing Transformation: Lead or support initiatives to modernise actuarial pricing tools and methodologies across multiple business lines. Work closely with underwriting and data teams to embed technical pricing models into front-line decision-making. Develop scalable and transparent pricing frameworks that improve speed, consistency, and auditability of rate-making processes. Support the implementation of new pricing technologies (e.g., updated platforms, automation, machine learning) while ensuring alignment with actuarial principles. Influence underwriting strategy through analysis of price adequacy, rate change, and risk-adjusted profitability trends.
About You
Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Actuary (FIA or equivalent). Strong experience in both capital modelling and actuarial pricing, with recent exposure to pricing transformation or tooling enhancement. Knowledge of Lloyd’s regulatory landscape, including Solvency II, capital model governance, and pricing best practices. Experience with pricing platforms or development tools (e.g. Radar, R, Python, Excel VBA, SQL) and capital tools like Igloo or Tyche.
Skills & Attributes: Technically robust with a strategic mindset and commercial awareness. Strong communicator with an ability to challenge, influence, and support change. Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and deliver process improvements.
