Location: This role will be based primarily in the West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire region with travel required to get to all site locations.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7.30am - 4:00pm

Salary: £20.59-£22.34 dependant on experience

Bonus opportunity: Up to £2,400 per annum, measurement based on company and personal performance

Role Overview: The Commercial Gas Engineer will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive gas, plumbing, and mechanical tasks across the Sewell Facilities Management property portfolio. This includes general maintenance and repairs of boilers, heating systems, water heaters, DHW systems, controls, and associated equipment. The role will require mobile working from different sites across the North of England and Lincolnshire and may require participation in the out of hours on-call rota. Company vehicle, tablet and phone will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out statutory and planned maintenance for commercial heating and plumbing systems.
  • Respond to reactive tasks allocated by our Customer Care Team, ensuring all properties managed by Sewell Facilities Management are maintained to a high standard.
  • Identification and reporting/repairing of defects and maintenance requirements.
  • Liaise with external contractors as and when appropriate to meet the needs of the business.
  • Assist with compiling information for maintenance and repair quotations, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Communicating information to the client, facilities officers and management as appropriate.
  • Maintain a safe, legally compliant work environment by adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations across all maintenance activities.
  • Participate in the on-call rota to address emergency callouts, providing reliable and timely responses to urgent issues.

Essential:

  • Full driving licence, valid in the UK
  • Valid domestic & commercial gas qualifications
  • Possess a positive & professional attitude.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
  • Proactive approach towards both planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to liaise with contractors.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise numerous tasks.
  • A positive approach to learning & development.
  • Possess a flexible outlook towards working hours (out of hours working will be required as part of the on-call callout rota system).
  • Strong knowledge of current health & safety practices.

Desirable:

  • F-Gas certification & experience
  • Fault finding and maintenance experience in heating systems including BMS.
  • Experience with air handling & fan coil units.
  • First aid trained.
  • Valid qualifications in air conditioning, refrigeration, and catering equipment.
  • 18th edition electrical certification and experience.
