Team

Join IG UK’s Crypto Product Engineering team, the core group responsible for building the company's top strategic priority – a market‑leading crypto trading platform.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of complex ReactNative features for trading platforms across mobile and web, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
  • Architect and implement scalable cross‑platform solutions that handle real‑time financial data streams and high‑frequency trading operations.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, designers and product managers to deliver features that drive business growth and champion the client.
  • Participate in the full product lifecycle – from requirements discussions to seeing customers using your software in production.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical decision‑making that shapes mobile and web development standards.
  • Own end‑to‑end delivery of features, taking accountability for performance, reliability and user experience across all platforms.
  • Drive cross‑platform innovation, implementing cutting‑edge technologies to stay ahead in the fintech landscape.
  • Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, improve code quality and stay at the cutting edge of modern engineering practices.
  • Think strategically about frontend architecture – challenge the status quo, propose improvements and help shape the technical direction of our mobile and web platforms.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Extensive experience in ReactNative development with a proven track record of delivering production mobile and/or web applications.
  • Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React hooks, Redux/Context API and cross‑platform development best practices.
  • Experience with native mobile development (iOS/Android) and the ability to write custom native modules when required.
  • Solid understanding of React performance optimisation, including memory management, rendering optimisation and efficient API integration.
  • Experience with real‑time data handling, WebSocket connections and high‑frequency data updates.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks and deployment processes.
  • Experience with AI‑assisted development tools – engineers are expected to view AI as a force multiplier, not a replacement.
  • Strong English language communication skills and the ability to work effectively in globally distributed, cross‑functional teams.
  • A keen interest in ongoing learning, both business and technical – a deep understanding of IG’s trading products and financial markets is a plus.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with a quality‑first, ownership mindset.

This is a hybrid position: three days onsite in the office and two days remote.
