Your team: We are IG UK’s Crypto product engineering team, having successfully delivered the company’s #1 strategic priority – a fully licensed, FCA‑regulated crypto trading platform launched in December 2025. We maintain elite engineering standards through cloud‑native AWS architecture, comprehensive observability, and a culture of end‑to‑end ownership where engineers drive product outcomes, not just technical deliverables.

Your role in the Team’s Success: Your primary responsibility will be to lead the development of complex React Native features for our award‑winning trading platforms across mobile and web. You’ll architect scalable solutions that handle real‑time financial data streams and high‑frequency trading operations on any device. You’ll work as a hands‑on practitioner who leads by example while mentoring others in the team. You’ll leverage AI‑assisted development tools as a core part of your workflow – we expect engineers to actively embrace AI to multiply their impact. Think and act like an owner – your code directly enables traders to seize market opportunities.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the development of complex React Native features for our award‑winning trading platforms across mobile and web, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
• Architect scalable cross‑platform solutions that handle real‑time financial data streams and high‑frequency trading operations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including backend engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver features that drive business growth and champion the client.
• Actively participate in product development, from requirements discussions to seeing customers using your software in production.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical decision‑making that shapes our mobile and web development standards – raising the bar across the team.
• Drive cross‑platform innovation, implementing cutting‑edge technologies to stay ahead in the competitive fintech landscape.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of features – from technical design through deployment – taking accountability for performance, reliability, and user experience across all platforms.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and stay at the cutting edge of modern engineering practices.
• Think big about our frontend architecture – challenge the status quo, propose improvements, and help shape the technical direction of our mobile and web platforms.

What you’ll need for the role:

• Extensive experience of React Native development with a proven track record of delivering production mobile and/or web applications.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React hooks, Redux/Context API, and cross‑platform development best practices.
• Experience with native mobile development (iOS/Android) and ability to write custom native modules when needed.
• Solid understanding of React performance optimization, including memory management, rendering optimization, and efficient API integration.
• Experience with real‑time data handling, WebSocket connections, and high‑frequency data updates.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and deployment processes.
• Experience with AI‑assisted development tools – we’re looking for engineers who see AI as a force multiplier, not a threat.
• AI‑positive mindset – you see AI tools as amplifiers of engineering capability, not replacements, and you’re excited to push the boundaries of what’s possible with AI‑assisted development.
• Strong English‑language communication skills and the ability to work effectively in globally distributed, cross‑functional teams.
• A keen interest in ongoing learning, both business and technical – you’ll gain deep understanding of IG’s trading products and financial markets.
• Familiarity with financial services or trading platforms is highly desirable but not essential.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with a quality‑first, ownership mindset – you build it, you run it, you love it.

This is a hybrid position (3 days onsite, 2 days remote work).
